Nuclear Institute Young Generation Network

Nuclear Institute YGN

The YGN is the Early Careers branch of the Nuclear Institute (NI), the professional membership body and Learned Society for the nuclear sector. All NI members aged 37 or under are automatically part of the Young Generation Network.

The YGN is a vibrant and diverse community that supports the development of early career nuclear professionals. It connects students, apprentices, graduates, and young professionals across the industry, creating opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow.

Through technical events, site visits, workshops, and networking opportunities, the YGN helps members build both their expertise and professional skills. It also provides a platform to engage with key topics shaping the future of nuclear—from new build and decommissioning to innovation and the transition to net zero.

Working closely with industry and academic partners, the YGN amplifies the voice of the next generation, bringing fresh perspectives into sector conversations. At its core, it fosters a supportive and inclusive network, helping to develop a confident, connected workforce ready to lead the future of nuclear.
