The Fusion Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT), a collaboration of 6 Universities in the UK, is an innovative doctoral training programme designed to prepare the next generation of fusion scientists for leadership roles in the global pursuit of fusion energy.
Building on the world-leading reputation and infrastructure of our current Fusion CDT, we are committed to training over 100 scientists from diverse backgrounds, equipping them with the technical expertise and transferable skills necessary for success in both public and private fusion programmes, as well as in the emerging supply chain.
Supported by a network of more than 20 industry partners and international labs, the Fusion CDT offers a collaborative, cohort-based training environment that bridges academic research with real-world application. Our graduates are poised to become leaders in public and private fusion programmes, ensuring the UK remains at the forefront of developing safe, sustainable, zero-carbon energy solutions for the future.
