Terri Hargreaves

Terri Hargreaves has been a Diversity & Inclusion Advisor at Sellafield Ltd. since 2019, where she uses her background, personal experiences, and passion to drive the changes needed to create a much more accessible and inclusive work environment.  

Terri has worked for Sellafield Ltd. for over 13 years. First as a Health Physics Monitor, which provided her with first hand experiences of the barriers facing bringing inclusivity into complex and challenging environments. From 2016, Terri became actively involved in several of the employee-led support networks at Sellafield, including the Nuclear Autism Support Network (NASN) and the Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs). 

Before joining Sellafield, Terri had completed her BSc. (Hons.) in applied psychology and went on to complete her MSc. in applied psychology and mental health. 

In her current role, Terri supports a wide range of employee-led support networks and improvement projects working towards evolving Sellafield Ltd. into a more inclusive place to work, including the introduction of Reasonable Adjustments Passports. 

In early 2024, Terri met Alanna Downing and together they co-founded Enable Nuclear; an industry-wide network which aims to; 

  • Connect the disability, neurodiversity and carer employee resource groups across the industry. 
  • Share best practice, solve problems and offer a community of like-minded people within the nuclear sector. 

Terri passionate about raising the understanding and acceptance of invisible disabilities, especially neurodiversity as she herself is autistic. She is also keen to identify and tackle the systemic issues faced in the nuclear industry which cause significant barriers to inclusion.
