Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear (IDN) is excited to announce the launch of Watt’s Possible | Curiosity to Career, an innovative outreach initiative designed to bring the nuclear sector within reach for all. The programme has two primary focal areas:
(i) To engage with and showcase the range of careers in nuclear to young people from backgrounds currently underrepresented in the sector.
(ii) To raise aspirations and demonstrate that a career in nuclear is both accessible and achievable to all those who wish to be a part of it.
Through engaging workshops, live Q&A sessions, and interactive focus groups, Watt’s Possible | Curiosity to Career will showcase the diverse opportunities available in the nuclear sector. The initiative is being delivered in partnership with the Global Equality Collective (GEC), whose expertise will help ensure that students see a clear link between curiosity, education, and rewarding careers.
This project is made possible through funding from The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund (TNIBF), whose support enables IDN to expand its outreach and inspire students who may not have previously considered the nuclear industry as a future path.
“All eyes are on nuclear following recent investment decisions, making this the perfect moment to launch Watt’s Possible. We’re excited to get started and to collaborate with our pilot schools. The insights we gain will help us shape outreach that’s not only effective and engaging, but that truly connects with the young talent out there.” Monica Mwanje, Managing Director of IDN
“The Nuclear Industry Benevolent Fund were pleased to be able to support this important initiative via its Community Grant Programme to help raise awareness of the nuclear sector as a career option for young people.” Sarah Stewart, trustee TNIBF
