What “Build Trust. Navigate Change” Means for IDN

National Inclusion Week runs from 14 – 20 September 2026, and this year’s theme, “Build Trust. Navigate Change”, couldn’t be more fitting for the moment we’re in.

Inclusion work is facing real headwinds now: economic pressure, shifting expectations, increasing scrutiny of how Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is prioritised and communicated, and a broader climate of resistance to the work itself.

That is exactly why this year’s theme matters. It’s not about awareness for its own sake; it’s about moving from good intentions to meaningful, sustained action, even when conditions make that harder.

At Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear (IDN), our work sits at the intersection of a highly technical, highly regulated sector and the ongoing effort to build genuinely inclusive workplaces. That combination means we can’t afford performative approaches; our sector demands practical outcomes.

Throughout this week, we’ll be exploring what “Build Trust, Navigate Change” looks like in practice, for technical teams, for leadership, and for the people driving inclusion every day.

Follow along this week as we unpack what trust and change mean when the pressure is on.
